MASH goes home.

The idea of MASH anywhere BUT Korea may be considered bad because of the snore fest called AfterMASH. It was an ill conceived spin off created in hopes of keeping the audience from the TV series.
MASH Mania, however, tears down anything you remember about the TV show and builds up a series of vignettes by Richard Hooker about most of the MASH buddies following Hawkeye home.
Good to see that Henry Blake is still alive in the MASH universe, even if it is only a cameo appearance.
Lazy fun and good friends building their own hospital makes for a fine afternoon's reading.
Hooker knows his characters better than any TV writer does.
If you are a fan of the TV show, pass this one by. I say pass it by, but if you want to see the meat and not just the bare bones, fork over a penny and postage for a book you won't forget.

MASH is timeless

As a teenager I grew up reading every one of the MASH books. Except this one. Until today I didn't even know I had shorted myself one so 40 years later I ordered it and in a few days I will complete my collection. I loved these books and their crazy antics. I also am a huge fan of the series and doubt there isn't a single episode I haven't seen more than once. Plus I own all those on DVD as well. MASH is about a gruesome but necessary topic in the Korean War and this made if laughable. My Dad was in Vietnam when I started reading many of these so books were my escape and Hawkeye, Trapper, and the gang gave me that. I also just received MASH the movie on Blu-ray so to say I'm obsessed would be a little extreme but I am a huge fan of it all.

Sir Cumference a Teaching Tool

I used this book as a teaching tool to end-of-year 4th-Grade students as an introduction to Circumference, Diameter, and Radius, something they will study more in depth in 5th Grade. I put the book on a document camera so students could see the larger-than-life illustrations while I read aloud the story. They loved it. I think any age students like to be read to and they are never too old for a picture book. More important: Anything that can help students remember concepts earns accolades from me! The book got its best review the next day as we were continuing our Math lessons. As students were recounting terminology, I found they were using elements of the book to do so. I heard: "The measurement across a circle is ... Lady Di of Ameter, Diameter." And, What is radius? "Oh yeah, their son, Radius, was about half as tall as his mom Di of Ameter, so the radius goes from one point on the circle to the center point." The only reason I don't give it a full 5 stars is that I thought it was a little lengthy to use as an aide to a lesson. It took more time than I wanted, but it probably was well worth the time.

So fun

This book is just too fun. It teaches some geometry concepts through a silly medieval story. No violence or scary stuff. I actually love reading the book because it's pretty silly and clever. I am not a huge fan of the artwork, but it's certainly not bad. My son is 4 and he likes this book too, but probably not as much as I do :)

I work with a lot of kids that have reading comprehension problems abd have a hard time comprehending math concepts. In my math class this story helps them place what circumference, diameter, and radius.

About the Author
Carmen Carney, Ph.D., University of Iowa, is the Director of The Garvin Center for Cultures and Languages of Global Management at Thunderbird School of Global Management. She teaches Spanish for Business at Thunderbird; and Cross-Cultural Communication to MBA students in 9 countries in Latin America through interactive television broadcasting. She has been an NEH fellow at Yale University, the University of Texas-Austin, and at Arizona State University. Professor Carney has published extensively on the interrelationships of literature and the law in Don Quixote; and on literature, language, and culture and their intersection with the world of business. She also served as Editor of the Journal of Language for International Business; co-authored the book Informes y proyectos del mundo empresarial (2002), published by Arco libros and the C�mara de comercio de Madrid; and is co-author of Entre socios (2011) and Nuestro idioma, nuestra herencia (2011), both by McGraw-Hill.

Trino Sandoval holds a Ph.D. in Spanish from Arizona State University. Since 1996 he has taught several courses including conversational Spanish, business Spanish, Hispanic heritage in the Southwest, and Spanish for Spanish speakers at Phoenix College, where he has also served as an administrator. He is co-translator of two books by Margarita Cota-Cardenas: Puppet (University of New Mexico Press, 2000) and Sanctuaries of the Heart (University of Arizona Press, 2005). He has also published film reviews and contributed to encyclopedia entries on Mexican film.

Heidi Ann Garc�a holds a Ph.D. in Latin American Literature and Culture from Arizona State University. Since 1996 she has taught several courses at the university and high school level including basic Spanish for non-native speakers, Latin American literature, and business Spanish. She has also directed several Spanish programs abroad. In addition, she has published articles on topics related to her doctoral research such as U.S. Latino-Caribbean cultural production. She currently teaches Spanish for Heritage Speakers at North High School in Phoenix, Arizona.

Good overview of culture and language

It is an easy, interesting and useful reading for the most part. Some of the exercises are unnecessary and don't teach the language but rather some cultural elements that might not be as important (names of music groups, directors, etc.).
I did find a few spelling errors - which is dissapointing since this is a language book!

About the Author

Raymond Buckland has been actively involved in metaphysics and the occult for fifty years and has writing about it for nearly thirty.

He is the author of more than sixty books, including such best-selling titles as Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft, Gypsy Dream Dictionary, Practical Candleburning Rituals, and Witchcraft from the Inside. Ray has lectured and presented workshops across the United States, and has appeared on major television and radio shows nationally and internationally. He has also written screen plays, been a technical advisor for films, and appeared in films and videos.

Ray comes from an English Romany (Gypsy) family and presently resides, with his wife Tara, on a small farm in central Ohio. Beyond writing, Ray's other passion is homebuilt airplanes.

Un buen Libro que contiene much�sima informaci�n. Me arriesgu� compr�ndolo sin saber el contenido en su totalidad, vale mas de lo que cuesta. En mi caso me considero tipo brujo blanco pero este libro adem�s de la religi�n Wicca te ense�a michas cosas interesantes para tu aprendizaje. Lo recomiendo, solo dale una oportunidad y veras que no te arrepentir�s.

Buckland nos trae un manual completisimo sobre la wicca incluso con una seccion para el practiante solitario.
Algunos errores de traducci�n pero que no hacen que se desvirtue el contenido . Es un libro de consulta continuo ya que son tratados temas de principiantes y avanzados. con referencias a la Seax-Wica que es la tradicion de su creacion redondea ejemplos practicos para aquel que quiera conocer esta nueva Religion.

Si practicas en solitario o quieres utilizar elementos sin seguir estrictamente rituales m�s religiosos que pr�cticos este libro no te resultara especialmente util. No obstante aquello, el libro es excelente para iniciar un grupo o enriquecer la pr�ctica de uno ya formado en terminos de agregar formalidad y riqueza a los rituales y practicas en general.
