WOW, every single picture in this book is amazing! 51 illustrations and uplifting quotes,printed one per page.

If you like the cover picture you will love every single picture in this book and will have a hard time deciding which to color first. I am starting with page one and coloring through the book because every illustration is amazing.

This is a beautiful book full of graceful, artistic illustrations of the intricately designed soul bird set in different flowing scenes based on nature. On the back of each page is an inspiring quote that will add to your coloring experience.

This book will bring out your imagination, stimulate your senses and creativity, and as you become engaged in the enjoyable, relaxing activity of Coloring, it calms you and almost immediately starts reducing your stress level.

This book is a perfect addition to your coloring library; a perfect gift for school aged children, college students, or adults who enjoy coloring, and a much easier way to reduce stress than going to the gym.

1. 51 beautiful Illustrations printed one per page (on the back of each page is a beautiful, inspirational quote) on medium weight, bright white paper.

2. To prevent leakage onto the next picture, if you are using Gel Pens or Markers, Place a scrap sheet of paper under the page you are coloring and make sure the picture is dry before removing that page.

The only reason I give this one 4 stars is because the paper quality isn't great. The pictures are on one side of the sheet. There is a nice variety to the pictures so you don't get bored. Cute gift! Gel pens work great on it.

The designs are very detailed (similar to Johanna Bashford's work); however, they are single sided (there is quote on the reverse of each picture) making it easy to remove a page. The "bird" is a theme throughout the book and appears on most pages. I like the nature oriented pictures and find them very relaxing to work with.

Will get you thinking...

Mr. Crawford has obviously been thinking about interactive storytelling for a while. Like his previous books, the reader will be most fufilled if they approach the material with both an open mind and a critical eye. His writing style is both his strength and weakness, in that it will likely turn away skeptical readers quickly, but allows for a very dense amount of information for a book this size, without a lot of meandering and wishy-washy blather. You probably won't agree with him on everything, but certainly every assertion he makes is worth pondering over.

The possibilities of this medium are exciting to just about anyone, but there have continued to be a set of Hard problems that cause theorists to continue to stumble. Crawford proposes that many of these problems are too hard to think about solving anytime soon, or are indeed impossible to solve. Instead, he provides creative abstractions that obviate the problems so that we can get someplace tantalizingly close to a workable model.

The biggest problem with this being that there are no examples. Crawford's assertions are indeed well thought-out and documented, but there is no concrete back-up. I find this forgivable however, considering that even though the ideas are not entirely complete, they do tackle many problems head-on that previously went unanswered.

Another minor point is that while much time is spent on the inner mechanics of a theoretical storytelling engine, little time is spent on how these stories might actually be presented to the user. I believe this to have a pretty significant impact on how the engine might work. One can imagine many possibilities for how interactive stories might be protrayed, and this certainly has an impact on how they would be perceived.

A dense, exciting book that particuarly those in the games industry should read and think about. I look forward to his future work.

Not Just a Must-Read, It's a Must-Study.

This book opened up a whole new pattern of thinking for me. The information Mr. Crawford conveys in this publication is invaluable to any writer seeking to break into new areas-particularly gaming and other applications utilizing interactive storytelling. Writing for this genre requires a whole different mindset from traditional genres and Mr. Crawford succeeds at moving the reader towards that mindset.
Time and again I see in game reviews how a particular game has "awesome graphics and great gameplay but the story and dialogue" were severely lacking. With Mr. Crawford's extensive experience in the gaming industry, he very capable gives aspiring writers every tool he or she will need to get a very good start in the industry. Throughtout the book, he stresses how important it is for the "artsie" thinkers (the writers & artists) to work together with the "techie" thinkers (the programmers) and I think this is a valuable lesson that many current game producers have yet to learn. Mr. Crawford reminds the entire programming industry that one sector of development cannot succeed without the other. He more than adequately investigates and chronicles how the different development teams can work together and bridge the "communication" gap between the "artsies" and the "techies."
This book, while not exactly a tutorial piece, offers many examples and exercises to move the writer along in thinking like an interactive storyteller. The only real drawback may be the detail Mr. Crawford goes into. While I personally don't have a problem with this, I work with several young people who, while they are very keen on gaming development, probably wouldn't spend an adequate amount of time studying the information contained in the book unless it were required reading in a course.
Personally I feel that any writer who wants to pursue and develop stories for interactive programming should study this book. It's not enough to read it through once, twice or even three times. This is a book which needs to be worked through section by section, until writing for this relatively new genre becomes second nature. This book will have a permanent home in my library; it is very rich in information-hats off to Mr. Crawford for producing a very timely manual.

Perfection in a novel - better than the original Cinderella story

My readers know by now that I analyze books very carefully, and am also honest to a fault in my reviews. I honestly have no constructive criticism for Ella at all. I loved it from beginning to end.

Let me tell you why:

1. Ella had many of the same elements as the original Cinderella story, but it was also quite different. There was no Fairy Godmother, and I can’t tell you anything else, or it will ruin the story. Just trust me – there are delicious twists and turns.

2. I absolutely loved the main character, Ella. She was a character to look up to - one you would wish to emulate. She worked tirelessly, she kept her promises, she was humble, and she was loving. She never gave up, was courageous, and had hope for her future.

3. I was just as much in love with the character of Will, her childhood friend. The story wasn’t told from his perspective, but it didn’t matter, because the author painted his thoughts and feelings through his nonverbal, verbal, and physical communication. It was brilliant.

4. There were so many religious elements woven into the book, even though God was never specifically mentioned. Forgiveness, compassion, charity, mercy, humility, sacrifice, strong family ties…I could go on listing these Christ-like virtues. I loved these elements, and was strengthened by them.

5. I had empathy for the antagonist. Some of my most favorite novels help me see the humanity in, and feel empathy towards, even the darkest of people.

6. There was a very special phrase used throughout the book, that whenever said, made me smile and think fondly of Ella’s dear father.

7. The chemistry between two characters in the book was intoxicating. I felt every blush, every touch, every intense stare like they were my own, or directed at me. It takes a very talented writer to pull this off well, especially when those moments are restrained.

8. I cried like a baby from the last chapter through the epilogue. A book that can make you care about the characters and their fates enough to make you cry openly is a work of art.

Ella is YA fiction, but is intended for women of all ages. I wrote it mostly for moms who don't have a lot of time and want to read something uplifting and sweet and meaningful.”

I hope someday to have a daughter with whom I can share the simple, yet profound messages found in this magnificent novel.

Just what I've been looking for over the years

I am a huge fan of Cinderella retellings, and this immediately rose to one of my favorites. If I were to write a Cinderella story, this is exactly what I would have written! Being my favorite fairy tale (cliche, I know), I've always had my peeves in parts of the story. Each of those was addressed in this re-telling and made me quite satisfied. While I adore Ella Enchanted and her reasons for obedience, I liked that this book was very realistic and her reasons were ones that every person can relate to. Ella starts as a good character, but with flaws. Again, like any regular person. She grows over the course of the book. She is stronger and more aware by the end, and still relatable. I think that was my favorite part of the book--how relatable every thing was. Even if abuse or servitude is not something a reader is familiar with, they can understand it by the way the story is written.

So excited I was able to get an ARC of this--and signed by the author! I look forward to promoting this to tweens and teens alike. There is much a reader can take away from this, with a realistically happy ending.

Great gift for teen girls!

As an adult I totally enjoyed this book, but when I gave it to my twin tween daughters they DEVOURED it. I think both of them read it in less than 24 hours. What I like most in this version of Cinderella is that Ella solves her own problems without waiting around for a fairy godmother to do things for her. Plus her relationship with her stepmother takes a surprising twist. I would totally recommend this book for any young woman, and it would make a perfect Christmas gift!

It's 80 years late and war has happen that change the world. Ida shown her colors. The Nokken are back and dead to all vampires and Alexis. Cliff and Alexis have final their line, what is next for Alexis will she stay or leave Cliff?

Received a copy to read and review. It was great. Stacy definitely keeps the reader's attention with her books. You never know what's going to happen. The ending leaves me wanting to read the next one as soon as I can to find out what the new twists and turns are. If you haven't read this series yet you need to add to your TBR list. It's a great series. I highly recommend it. I look forward to reading more of her books.

So many turns!!

I gave this a five star rating. It really is a great read! The characters are dynamic and every time you think you know a character completely you get another angle of them that changes everything. I was sad to jump from Team Cliff to Team Alre but I liked them together more than I liked her with Cliff. The romance and action balance is what won this one for me!

A couple things however I did not like. This book is in need of a book wide fine tooth combing. There were a lot of errors. I will say that that most are not noticeable. Most errors I only encountered due to going back to read a page or two out loud to a friend to explain why I suddenly broke out in excitement in public! I also feel like as the book went further and further, the details were more and more lacking. An example,while trying to keep from dropping too many spoilers, would be Alexis' ring. Give me details! Make me green with envy! Instead all that is known is that it was a ring, diamond variety, and fit well.

My favorite aspect about this book is the turns! Not only are there turns but they are out of nowhere disorienting turns. It was great. It's like being in a haunted house waiting for the first person to jump out!! The author did a great job with her turns! Regrettably I am a cheater reader. I cheat and read ahead or even the end sometimes and then return to the place I was. I could not with this book. The big question in this book was: who does she choose? Cliff or Alre? I had to read ahead (not the end) THREE times due to the turns in the relationships! I give this author a standing ovation. Usually series start to die off by now. She actually makes each book better than the last!!
