Thorough Curriculum

The book offers a comprehensive study of science for fifth graders.
It is a good companion towards preparation for the fifth grade science portion of the California Standardized test - focusing on the scientific method of research.
It is not necessary to complete all of the experiments to teach the material, although there are more than enough provided to pick and chose from.

Some chapters are explained well and are easy to follow but few chapters need better descriptions. It would be better if they would explain a few elementary concepts where new concepts at this grade level are introduced. Pictures are good and overall it is a good book for the fifth grade level.
