About the Author
Cindy Papale joined the team at the Miami Breast Center as an Administrative Assistant in July of 2010. A Long Island New York native, she moved to Miami Florida in 1972, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Miami. Cindy’s boundless passion for helping other breast cancer survivors became even more pronounced in the aftermath of her own diagnosis and subsequent treatment in July of 2000. She has appeared on the South Florida Today Show and 101.5 LITE FM Radio. Cindy is in the process of collaborating with Peabody Award-winning producer Derek Britt on a feature film inspired by her breast cancer journey. Sabrina Hernandez-Cano RDN, NC, CDE is a graduate of Florida International University and a Registered Dietitian, Nutrition Counselor, and Certified Diabetes Educator. She is in private practice in Miami Florida where she specializes in bariatric nutrition. A member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics since 1994, she served as president of Miami Dietetic Association from 1999-2000 and was the recipient of the Miami Herald Silver Knight award for dedication in community service. Sabrina is also a co-founder of Hummingwell Wellness Bar.

I buy these books, not because I have cancer cancer or have ever hat it - but I support their cause. I pass the books around to those who are heavy with worry after finding out their breast cancer results. These books, including the first one, will take you through the entire process of first being scared of what next -to all the medical terms the doctors use, what the actual tests are like and what to expect throughout the process - to the finale of your decision to "Boob or not to Boob".
Everyone's journey is different and the cancer events that are held are very inspiring of women who do not EVER complain of ANYTHING - whether having it now or their ultimate survival of beating it. I am encouraged always by reading the books and then lending out like I have a library. It's so important to hear these doctors and their explanations of the tests and why - and also the personal life stories which really lift my spirits.
Hooray for a wonderful book. Cheers to Cindy and Sabrina and all of the Doctors who contributed to this book.

Attention all Breast Cancer Survivors!

This is a must have book for the newly diagnosed breast cancer survivor as well as women who are veterans with breast cancer. It outlines several modalities available to aid in your recovery from this disease. Written by experts in their field, surgeons, dietitians, radiologists, nurses, share their thoughts and advice to breast cancer survivors. It is a compendium of valuable information offering information on screening, chemotherapy and recovery as well as dietary recommendations and even a meal plan by a registered dietician. I will be recommending this book to all of my breast cancer patients.

I am still learning even after diagnosis. This book is comprehensive and addresses many needed and helpful topics for those diagnosed with breast cancer and family members. Cindy used her own experience to share topics of relevance. In the local community, Cindy is involved in many inspiring projects aimed at awareness and healing for survivors and family. Great job Cindy and Sabrina. I found it addressed topics I had not even thought to ask. I encourage fellow survivors to read it and put some of the tips into practice.
